$2 clothing!

I've got a job! I'm a counter-person at the Shed Coffee Shop (sort of the kiwi Sam's Club, but without the membership) and the manager is going to make me a manager soon so he can go open a new location--Pay raise! It's a little more responsibility, so I can't just skip town at the drop of a hat, but I have a real job! I start on Thursday. But I needed some black pants, so Erin and I went second-hand shopping. We found a Recycled Clothing store down Colombo street where everything was $2! I got three pairs of pants, a belt and a shirt... $10! Bam! It was quite exciting. I also discovered (after picking a renegade out of the daffodils) that tulips are beautiful! I'd never seen the inside of one. And there are so many different smells to the different kinds of daffodils. I particularly like the tiny kinds. These are my recent revelations. It's also gotten really cold again, so I'm glad to have some new clothes to work with. Well, three more days at the winery and with the daffodils, then I'm on to my interior job. It also only starts at 10 and I think it's about a 30 minute walk, which is totally awesome. Happy time! Sorry about the no pictures, I can't make them upload and I haven't found an image hosting site yet. I'll get there, promise!

Gettin' There

Yes, I'm still here. It's been pretty busy around here, what with the working and trying to get the flat in order and meet new people and looking for a better job. Fortunately, I'm well on the way to doing all three. We somehow managed to get the new lounge suite into the house (I don't know how that worked, honestly. But I have the banged up fingers to prove it wasn't easy!) and all I need is to get a chair and a desk for my room, and I'll be all set to go. We went to a Work New Zealand pub meet and met some people there, and they invited us to some live music and out for drinks and things like that, so we at LEAST know a few people we can invite to Erin's birthday party in a few weeks, which is actually going to be a joint party with Steve, since his birthday is 4 days after Erin. Paaarty at the flat! And today I called a few temp agencies, on the advice of someone I met at the pubmeet oddly enough, and one of them said she had a job for me that starts next week! So I'm going in to interview tomorrow, and hopefully all will go well. The next step is to plan some trips around the south island on the weekends. Any suggestions?
