Purple Daffodils

So after applying for about a dozen positions and not hearing back either way on any of them, I've found instant employment picking daffodils. Sounds like rough work, but somebody's gotta do it. We also found flatmates! Ricki and Steve have a nice new house in lower Riccarton, close to the botanical gardens, the Avon river, and most of the bus routes.

Erin got a new car! Henry is a '93 Honda Accord, considerably more promising than Grotty was, and with working windshield wipers!

Gerome the Gnome got right to work on the radio. It's a little challenging since the display has gone out. What radio station is it on? Is it AM or FM? Who knows!

We went up to Hamner Springs today with Evelien and Guido. The thermal springs up in the mountains range in temperature from 35 to 41 degrees Celsius. It was niiiiiiice. And sulfury.
Well, tomorrow is the beginning of our first workweek in New Zealand! It's gonna be wine and daffodils from here on out...

Erin's Photos

So I managed to upload the pictures from New Zealand. They're in the appropriate posts. Also, a few of Erin's choice shots from the past week.

So Erin stuck this on my back on Saturday, and I forgot to take it off until Sunday or Monday. Heaven knows what people thought I was trying to say.

This also came with Grotty. You know, so all those thieves would be deterred.

Just in case you forgot we were in the land of sheep.

Kate gets sloppy seconds with Harry Potter. An excellent book.

The street vendors sell baked potatoes here. It's delicious.
