Odysseus, an update

So the epic saga of the little old snail from pasadena continues. After having to decline a radio interview about Odysseus due to our current locale, there are now stirrings about screenplays and getting the rights to the story. Oh my. We may yet be deciding who will play us in the movie, as Molly so gleefully jested last week. Can this get any more ridiculous? I should have put a homing device on him...

And here's yet another twist. I just received this from the Ventura County Reporter reporter:

Dear Ms. Loeffler,
Hi! This is Stacey Wiebe from the VC Reporter, the paper that wrote a small piece on Kate and Erin (and Odysseus). I just wanted to let you know there's a local woman who really enjoyed the story and wants to send the girls a small piece of art. I don't know much about it, other than that it is a piece of art (she doesn't sound crazy).

I am writing to ask if that's okay and, if it is, is there an address where she can send it? I had your address, but tossed it after I mailed your copies of the story.

Thanks and have a great day!

Sincerely,
Stacey

Perhaps he's getting a little "two if by sea" if that's what snails do. If so, good for him.

A tramper is a hiker, kiwis just like to have different words for everything. For instance, the car trunk is the boot and a flashlight is a torch. Both much more fun to say than their american counterparts, I might add.

Wow. Wow wow wow.

You guys are great.

I suppose, upon reading that story, that the actions taken us (read: mainly Kate (1)) to protect that snail do, in fact, sound completely insane.

Now I will never again wonder who those wierdos are that make page 3 of the metro section of the paper.

They are, in fact, my roomates.
